Doreen Alvez is a Grants Specialist and Forest Health Coordinator with the Planning Division’s Grants team, focused on advancing forest health. She coordinates Firewise communities and forest resilience projects, effectively leveraging funding for diverse forest initiatives. Doreen also facilitates efforts to achieve forest health goals in Tulare County.

With over 26 years of experience at the County of Tulare, Doreen has provided administrative support to local agencies while strengthening her dedication to policy development and community engagement. She is committed to enhancing forest health and resilience through innovative projects, strategic partnerships, and efficient resource management.

Doreen holds an Associate of Science degree in Paralegal Studies from the College of the Sequoias, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Organizational Leadership from Fresno Pacific University, and a Master of Arts degree in Geography, specializing in Natural Resources, from Arizona State University.
