Mountain Home Demonstration State Forest (MHDSF), established in 1946, is located in Tulare County, California, approximately 22 miles east of Porterville. Spanning over 5,000 acres at elevations between 4,800 and 7,600 feet, the forest is home to some of the world’s largest and oldest giant sequoia trees, with specimens reaching up to 240 feet in height and 27 feet in diameter, many exceeding 2,000 years in age.
